Light is essential for spatial perception, for making objects visible and for guidance at night. But good lighting does not simply have to be bright, nor does every room require the same level of illumination.
The focus is on aspects such as safety, energy efficiency and, what is becoming more and more important, the ambience with which a place is lit, i.e. the mood and atmosphere which is created.
The functional requirements such as optical guidance, lighting uniformity, recognition of obstacles and minimisation of dark zones are clearly determined by the type of application. The way should not only be well lit but pedestrians should also be able to be seen more easily, especially on cycle paths or footpaths.
Our universal LED lighting system LaneLED WALL provides safety and orientation in the dark in the form of an individual product or in combination with an INOX handrail.
The right light for every location
Our sophisticated solutions are used for illumination and guidance in public spaces, waiting areas, multi-storey car parks, cycle paths and footpaths as well as for the accent lighting of façades and squares.
A few examples from our portfolio show the innumerable areas of application – all made in Switzerland.
«Alvik muren» footpath and cycle path in Stockholm
The city of Stockholm required lighting for the pedestrian and cycle path on a major traffic route in the Bromma district. The limited space available did not allow the use of conventional street lamps. The LaneLED WALL was used to implement a decorative indirect lighting system which meets the requirements on the existing stone wall.
Public space in Flawil
The signalling provided on the bus and railway station square was redesigned to improve the traffic flow and to upgrade the general waiting area. The expertise of GIFAS was also in demand here.
The LaneLED WALL lighting inserted in the wood of the seating elements creates a discreet light and an attractive ambience.
The traffic area was also better demarcated and marked with the TrafficLED luminaire embedded in the road surface.
Platform lighting
Spital Zollikerberg station on the Forch railway line has been completely refurbished and equipped with new ceiling lighting to provide more safety and comfort for the passengers.
The dimmable LaneLED WALL light bar scores points with its simple installation, low light pollution and central control system.
Château d'Hauteville Vevey station
Due to increasing passenger numbers, the existing station was refurbished to comply with public safety regulations.
The access ramp and platform were illuminated and accentuated by means of a LaneLED INOX stainless steel handrail with integrated LED light bar.
The DALI interface used in this example also enables the light to be dimmed, thereby protecting the local residents and nocturnal animals from excessive light pollution. Additional safety is provided by an anti-fall guard.
